COLD FORGING The cold forging Process is defined as forming, Deforming or forging a material at ambient temperature without any preheating of the part at any intermediate stages. The Cold extrusion is a unique forging where the hard metal flows plastically under compressive forces into various shapes of cavity Cold Forging Die. The Parts manufactured in Cold forging are ucommonly axisymmetric and can be small or big parts from 10 grams to 5 kg with non-symmetrical shapes. Generally Cold forging generate does not generate flash whihc is common in Hot forging. Industrial people term the Cold Forging & Cold Extrusion refer to extrusion, upsetting or heading, coining, ironing, and swaging operations. Mostly mechanical and some times Hydraulic machines are used for cold forging. smallre parts can be Mechanical press varying from 100 ton to 350 ton and hydraulic press are of many size, with our experience seen upto 3500 ton which is generally installated under the ground level 15 to 20 feet below and operator operates from the ground level with a visual camera looking into the operation. These operations are usually have Several forming steps like when the part is cut fromshearing machine it will be 1st operation in the press to for the upsetting operation, which means to bring into some shape which will then goes for final forging to get a required shape. The final part are very complex geometry relatively, which starts with a slug or billet . The cold forging Process is critical but considering Hot Forging, cold forging is economical process and normally round parts are produced in large quanty. There are many advantages of Cold forging which are following, Cost of manufacturing is very less comparing hot forging Cycle time van ver very less, as handling of material is very easy. Can achive a required tolerance and very less machining is required as we can achive the close tolerance in the Cold forging itself. Toolsand dies used in the process have log life which is a great saving and many more things are there and go onlisting. Most of the Automobile parts like Beaeing cap, UJ Cross, Small couplings, Drive Shaft parts, Engine parts weiging from 10 to 7 kg can be easily done with very economical way. Our Iyalia Forging Pick and Place system works smoothly for all small components weighting from 5 grams to 100 grams. it can work 12 to 20 parts minute depending upon the size and weight of the part. The machine works with a combination of mechanical parts, pneumatic parts and electronic PLC. This machine is a operator less machine, were the feeder can fill the parts and leve the machine work autmatically. you can also watch the video of a similar machine.
